Freda Yimunya Lane

Freda Yimunya Lane was born in about 1940, between Papulankutja and Irrunytju. She worked as a health worker before moving to Papulankutja. She took part in the first Tjanpi Desert Weavers workshop in 1995. She likes making baskets but occasionally makes a tjanpi sculpture. She was part of the group that created the life-sized Tjanpi Grass Toyota that won the 22nd Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award in 2005.

Janet Nyumitji Forbes

Janet Nyumitji Forbes

Janet Nyumitji Forbes was born in 1962 in the Warburton Ranges. She is the daughter of Fred Forbes, founder of Papulankutja community where she still lives. Janet is an accomplished tjanpi artist and a true perfectionist.
